Ted included this entertaining post from a scammer:

Right now i am in Italy and i will be back next year.. You can see the picture in my add on craigslist.org,the bike it is in perfect condition for use.

Please let me know asap if we can close a deal

Far as I'm concerned the final sentence is the giveaway, even if you knew nothing else about the bike in question. These guys always try to close the deal right away, for obvious reasons. Someone who was actually selling the bike would never included a line like that.

I get these scammer responses all the time for stuff I'm selling. I find them amusing. I just delete 'em. Better than than invite hacker wrath by responding. Be nice to scam them back somehow though. Too risky, imho.

All that said, maybe our boy in Italy is legit...but I would do any deal with him.

Concerning Carlos Kleiber one of the greatest of all post-war conductors:

The glamour often associated with a conductor's life held no appeal for him; he preferred to stay at home in Munich. He once told Leonard Bernstein: "I want to grow in a garden. I want to have the sun. I want to eat and drink and sleep and make love and that's it."
