Scott Mathauser brakes appear to have been introduced in 1976. I have a sheet that was sent to bike shops that begins with, "The hot new item of 1976 is the Mathauser brake shoe.........". The sheet also mentions that there were comments by Fred De Long in BICYCLING, July, 1976, regarding these brakes.
No mention of the word "super" in the documentation.
