I was inspired by Peter Johnson's drillium bike that Chuck had at the Cirque and built up a similar machine (albeit an amateur imitation!). I raced the bike with this setup last year. Since then I rebuilt the frame with a very very OT grouppo hence the drillium kit should go to a new home! Here are the specifics:
1. Crankset - Started life as an Ofmega SR copy. Anodizing removed and highly polished. Drilling much like the Peter Johnson bike, i.e., alternating hole sizes arond perimeter, but with hearts instead of clubs. White highlights. 170 mm arms. 53/41 rings. Very nice! $50.
2. Rear Derailleur - NR with black alloy pivot bolts, pretty red Bullseye pulleys, and drilled pulley cages ala Peter Johnson. This is a user with some scratches here and there. $40.
3. Handlebars - Old Logo Cinelli 64-40's with an inch cut off the end (drastic weight savings for sure). Bars actually measure closer to 38 ctc. Some scratches on center but not bad. $15.
4. Brake Calipers - Nice Super Record set converted to recess nuts. Kool Stop pads. $60.
5. Brake Levers - Nice Super Record with Modolo gum hoods. White highlights. $30.
6. Shifters - Simplex retro friction braze ons. These really are quite nice! $40.
Buy the complete kit for $200! Shipping not included. Jpegs on request. What does not sell will be destined for Ebay.
Thanks, Paul Raley Leonardtown MD
