Subject: [CR]Selling things on the list (a statement, not a list)

On a monday morning, sometimes you look around for things to boost your spirits. Well, here in the Bay Area, we're more than a week into a really nice spell of weather, so that has been a plus, and I had a nice ride into work, going the long way again, so that's a plus. I guess I don't have to look for things to boost my spirits, but I sorta got one anyway. Over the weekend I posted a list of stuff for sale. I won't even try to deny that it's nice to clear out stuff I've decided I just won't be using any time soon, but the bonus part for me is getting in contact with list members and realizing that I have something they were looking for. Maybe the stuff I have is the last part of a project someone is working on, and now it will be done. That would be nice, and I can picture someone rolling a bike out of the garage for the first time after tinkering for a long time, checking the adjustment, riding ovals in the street in front of their house.

I don't sell stuff on this list often enough to remember all the things I should remember, so I make mistakes in the posting in one way or another. Sorry about that, but most people have been good natured and helpful about it when it happens, and realize I'm trying my best and am not trying to pull a fast one. A lot of times I'm surprised at what on my list attacts interest. Some things I think more people would want turn out to be the ignored orphan, and other things I must have underpriced as a queue develops of people hoping those ahead of them will change their mind. I've actually been told before that in some cases I was selling things too cheap. Well, I've never regretted selling something at the price I've posted, but I do recall contacting someone selling something (not on this list) who said they got lots of replies so it must be worth more than they were asking so the price was now going to be higher. Never regretted just forgetting on the spot that particular item, and I'm glad that sort of thing isn't a likely thing on this list. Well, short of going to a swap meet, I do like the buying and selling that goes on here. There is more to the sale than the transaction.
