Folks- I have what I thought was an ordinary Campy GS BB. I thought I was familar with this model going back to the early 1960s to whenever they ended production in mid-80s. The axle itself, I always believed, had been a solid one peice affair with a published length of 115mm+/-. However, I have what I was sure is a GS axle that is hollow just like a NR/Record/C-record/chorus. The length also makes me rule out Triomphe/Victory/Athena/etc. It is still black colored like I always thought GS to be and it also has the "winged wheel" logo as found on GS components. All the catalogs that I have read containing GS info do not seem to indicate that GS BB axles were hollow. Does some one have a later 80s catalog that describes a hollow GS axle? [sorry for being out of the CR time line with that question] and if so, is there a date in which this change took place? Never the less, it seems to be totally up with fine milling and workmanship that we have all known and come to love/covet/etc. about Campy components. What particular item/version do I have?? Any help would be most appreciated. cheers- Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT
