Yep! BUSINESS IS BUSINESS with Ernesto!
A new and up coming Semi Pro Dutch team was being formed! There were going to ride for GIANNI MOTTA! Ernesto came along and offered twice the Money that GIANNI was going do dish out!........Of course they said yes to Ernesto and left GIANNI with nothing! Since this was a Semi Pro gig of which a single Marque could not be fielded more than once for any race!...So what did Ernesto do, he handed them Saronni.
Also!...............Riders who rode for the SUPER CONFLEX COLNAGO team! They reported directy to Ernesto not to SUPER CONFLEX! They the riders were not paid by SUPER CONFLEX, Ernesto paid them directly! This came first hand from a former rider of which I don't think he would want me to mention his name. He and others called Ernesto,............The Mafia man!...............They still laugh about these moments.
On another note! '80s PDM squad goes to Sicily to race! They stay at a villa with machine gun carrying goons!.......Man walks up to a PDM guy!......Hand him a briefcase full of money and says this rider must win!......End of story and race. PDM was there for the whether and maybe some serious training. The guy that is handed the money is my friends uncle..My friend is a PDM wrench! Thats...............Business!
Sound like business as usual, money, control and power!.........Just me coming out of left field!
BC Baron C.................And the gang!!.................On our way home! Renaissance cycles, Eindhoven Holland.
