Lovely indeed... Interesting that today, most recreational riders
"need" a high gear of 120 or more... I guess that dates me - on most
courses, I could live with a bike that had both a 90 and a 65 inch
gear. Only on steep hills do I need a lower gear. Higher than 90? For
non-racing applications, no thanks!

Chuck, that's a great bit.Written at a time when fixed hubs were the standard, and coaster pegs were used by some.65 or 90s-- Corbin had a two speed ,sturmey was to build one 10 years later, and free wheels were "new" !
