I just installed a set of modern Campy cables (shift and brake) on my friction shifting 1966 Paramount with Campy barcons, NR ft and Rally rear derailers and the difference in shift and braking is dramatic. At the same time, I also installed a set of Mathauser pads on the Campy record sidepulls. [I just need to get the squeal out of the rear brakes.] Stopping and brake feel is improved! Only problem is that the cable housings are black (with Campagnolo lettering!) not silver/gray, but this bike has many non-original parts. It's a rider, not a museum piece. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
