Careful, "wood bleach" can also be oxalic acid, and probably a variety of other more evil concoctions. Oxalic is pretty mild stuff, probably not going to hurt steel, but might not do anything about the rust either. You don't just belly up to the counter and ask for "ice cream" do you? You have to select a flavor.
