Thanks Dan for the report and pix... it was indeed a great ride and nice to put faces (and bikes) with CR List members in the area.

And, of course, gratifying to see the bikes, British, Italian, Japanese, (mon dieu, no French?!) and a bit of everything, dating from the '40s to the '80s managing to get along too... on the cycle path! I lent my neighbour my 1951 Clubman and rode my 1948 RRA; there was also a delicious looking 1984 (?) Raleigh Team Professional so the Heron was well-represented. Wayne's collection proved the pitfall of not being confined as I am to fitting everything into a one-bedroom apartment; what a treasure trove indeed. At least we all rode home on the bikes were arrived on or at least I think so...

As for "manly" bikes with only one or two waterbottle cages, I guess my RRA and Clubman qualify in spades: they have none and off my usual beaten path with regular water en route, I must say I felt like I was emulating Tommy Simpson in the '67 Tour at times. I need to get one of those Coloral "feeding bottles" but need a small bank loan to afford it!

Thanks to Wayne for hosting this so generously. We all know cyclists are super people but doubly nice to reaffirm some of the nicest are on this List.
