Our friends in Britain, as part of the Veteran-Cycle Club, hold numerous vintage bike events throughout the year and one event called _The Boot and Back_is quite intriguing. It's a short 4.2 mile time trial race with several classes of bikes. Riders of solid tired bikes, rod braked bikes, pre war and post war lightweights compete in their own classes. A similar event at the Cirque (or VeloRendezvous IV) might be a fun addition to the schedule of events, though I'm not sure there would be many bikes in categories outside of the post war lightweights. BTW, the fastest time for the Boot and Back went to the youngest competitor, under 15 years old Keir Stone, son of list member Hilary Stone. He rode a 1946 Baines Flying Gate.
