Subject: [CR]Stuart Purves

In response to Mick Butlers request for info on Stuart Purves. He left Claud Butlers, where he was a designer/foreman circa 1949-50. Set up shop in Stretham but was not a builder himself. He took a builder from Clauds with him but we are not sure of this mans name. The shop ran for 5 or so years. Tho top model was known as the Stuart. After the shop shut he acted as a rep for Les Ephgrave but came back with so many orders that Les blew a fuse protesting that he just wanted to be a small operation. They parted company, Stuart to become a bookmaker.
    Thats all so far.
Re Les Ephgrave. Bill Gray came back to Clauds from the RAF in 1947 and Les had left by that time. All this info from a personal friend of Bill's.
