Yesterday I saw a bike for sale that was so interesting that I thought I'd pass info about it on to any folks who might be interested. It was a '30s 6 day racer with a really cool adjustable stem that I had not seen before. The owner had sand blasted off the paint, which had not been original, to see what was underneath. The bike has some kind of wild lugs that I can hardly describe and what looked like a Durax crankset, but it was un-marked. The Serial # on the bike is Det X214. (Made in Detroit?) It measured 53cm ctc. and has wooden rims. The owner says "$500 or any reasonable offer" He felt it might have a Wastyn connection.
The owner's name is Alex Stchekine, his phone 248-705-3208 and an E-Mail of lxvs@yahoo.com
No connection to seller, just pointing it out. Didn't have my camera with me, unfortunately.
