I have 70s era catalogs from Ishiwata (I prefer San Pellegrino)
that show aliminumuniumium frames as well as the framebuilding
parts offered by this firm. I think I also have Eisho catalogs that show
similarly built frames, CF ones too, next to their lugs n' stuff.

I have to concur with eRichie here. In 1973, Bridgestone was selling a
completely Aluminum framed model outfittred with a whole "Crane/Dura-Ace" grouppo.
These were massed produced, but very little of them made it to the States. I am
not sure how the tubes were joined since they came with what would be
considered as "over-sized" lugs. I can't comment on whether the tubes were butted or
not, however they were made by Ishiwata.
