Griff, How are you me 'ole china? I have a 1953 Gillott which is built with the old headclip lugs which have been pierced out to their Fleur de Lis design. They introduced the headbadge in late 1948 but this frame has no holes.It would have had the early iteration of a transfer. My point is that there were traditionalists who wanted old style bikes back then. Not everyone wanted the latest fad, badges and "Continental" headsets. So your headset would typically have been pre c1948 when they were considered "Old Hat" Unsure of rarity of your particular type though. Mark Stevens. Dingwall Scotland
