I had always figured that the Suntour Lepree with the three jocky wheels was a way to allow the rear derailleur to take up more chain slack therefore allwing a wider gear ration spread?
I don't remember them being on any very high end bikes, more or less lower mid range I guess.
As far as comparing it to a Cyclone, I think that the LePree is newer, and certainly not as light as the Cyclone. I'm sure someone here can find some info on when they were released, and where in the line up they fell.
