Hi CR folks,

One of the finest vintage bike-path bikes for sale for that special lady or Paramount collector.

Here is a very cool extremelely well preserved 1950's Lady Paramount for sale with the fun steel Paramount components. Same lug pattern as the classic 1938 Paramounts. Also, the workmanship on this one is better than other similar era Paramounts I have seen. It has the famous hubs front and rear (the rear is just made for a single speed freewheel). The crank is also the classic Paramount version, but it takes 1/2" pedals.

This is a very unique bike, very few were made according to Richard Schwinn. Also, this bike is among the best preserved Paramounts of the era that I have seen.

Size would be a 21" to top - top tube is effectively quite long - about 58cm, but swept back bars and rise make this bike very ridable for someone who likes a very short top tube (51cm or so).

This bike is wonderfully preserved for its age - it has fun pin striping, the cool chain guard which has both chrome and matching paint, and the neat Paramount fenders. Brakes are later Weinemann sidepulls, but otherwise this bike is very similar to the 1938 catalog drawing. Rims are probably original but not what the 38's had. This bike is an upright bar single speed. Bar and stem are original, but the stem I think was bent and I straighted it - so in theory it may be weakened. Nontheless, it was the bike my wife road around the bike paths with when she was pregnant 5 years ago.

The paint is kinda dark powder blue in very nice shape for the era, and the graphics are still very nice. The saddle is not original - I put on a sorta saggy 50's area Ideale that actually looks very appropriate on the bike and is quite usable. Tires, though, should be replaced sometime soon.

I am very reluctant to let this one go, but French bike addiction forces changes in my bike lifestyle.

Price is $1200 plus shipping and insurance. If you are very serious, I will provide photos.
