Mixte frames are often a good solution because frequently the front end of a mixte bike is often relatively high - had the bike not been a mixte a sloping top tube or headtube extension would be needed - but standover height might then become an issue. Many ladies or mixte bikes have a wonderful ride - extremely stiff if done correctly.
