Central Indiana Bicycling Assoc. (CIBA) is hosting a "Grand Touring" ride June 12, starting in New Breman, Ohio. The ride will be 43 miles. but there are longer and shorther options. The main reason for the ride is to tour the BMA afterward. CR members are especially invited to make this a Vintage Ride (or 'keepers of the flame' anyway). If you are interested in coming out for this let me know. I'll be leading. This is not a race, or even a hammerhead event, but a meander and social pace, show-off-your-classic-bike kinda ride. The Museum is a great time, too. Check http://www.cibaride.org for more info, under "Grand Touring' rides. Ron Gurth 317-201-7418

Bicycle Museum of America Ride Date/Time: June 12, 2004 -- Saturday -- 8:00 a.m. EST/9:00 a.m. EDT (Ohio time)Start Location: New Bremen, Ohio Bicycle Museum of America -- 7 W. Monroe St.Ride Lengths: 43 milesDirections: Take I-70 or US 36 East to US 127 (in Ohio), then US 127 North to Ohio SR 274. Follow SR 274 East to New Bremen. SR 274 becomes Monroe St. in town. (Travel distance is 132 miles via I-70 East, 114 miles via I-69 and US 36. If you were to take I-70 East to I-75 North, then SR 274 West to New Bremen, travel distance is 150 miles.)Description: Ride the lightly traveled and mostly flat country roads in Mercer and Auglaize Counties, and take in some great architecture in late 1800s churches. Some are open for a closer look. Upon return to New Bremen, we’ll visit the extensive collection of the Bicycle Museum of America, one of the largest of its kind. Formerly based in Chicago, the current owners moved it to Ohio a few years ago and have done a great job improving and growing the exhibits. The museum can only stay open until about 3:00 p.m. EDT, so we need to start fairly early to ride, lunch, and view. Maps and cue sheets will be available, but no Dan Henrys and no SAG. You may want to pack some food on the bike, though some of the small towns will no doubt have stores. Area attractions include the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta, not far away. Camping is available at Lake Loramie and Grand Lake St. Marys State Parks, if you want to go over Friday evening or stay through Sunday. Contact the Ride Leader near the ride date, and he may have more details. Check out http://www.bicyclemuseum.com.
