Hi folks:
I am addressing this to all of you "cancellation folks" to make clear the decision made by the event host, the Greensboro Velo Club, regarding refunding monies you may have sent in advance for your participation in this year's Cirque.
Normally the Greensboro Velo Club does not make refunds on no-show entries unless the event was cancelled due to rain or natural disaster, the logic being that they did what they promised, provided the service offered and reserved the entrant's place. This is "normal procedure" at races and big rides in our region. Occasionally exceptions are made with presentation of compelling evidence of grave illness, accident, etc.
But the Cirque broke even financially, so I have persuaded the club to refund payments for seminars, rides or swap meet spaces, IF you specifically request it
The only funds that will not be refunded are those for the Saturday night catered Banquet, as we had to pay for your reservation and the caterer has no intention to refund the Cirque for seats that went unfilled. I hope you all understand this situation.
