Charles Schlesinger recently raised a query about the origin of the Peyrard chainset on his Falcon. There is no mystery French forgemaster at work here - the cranks being the product of the company who normally branded their goods as "Nervar". The mystery is why the cranks bear the brand "Peyrard" rather than "Nervar"
My gut feeling is that the cranks and probably the Falcon predate the company's drive to get a greater share of the market when faced with competition from the likes of SR and Sugino. I was dealing with the Paeyrard company towards the end of the 70s and the stuff they sent me was always "Nervar".
Hope this helps out a bit
