All this talk of half-step gearing reveals how much I have yet to learn. Is there a source somewhere on gearing theory? When is a jump so small as to be unnoticeable? I am currently running a six speed 13-28 with 42-52 in front. While it works OK, I almost never put it in 13-52 or 42-28. I am committed to early 80's Campagnolo, so I am not going below 42 in front or above 28 in back.
