I recently acquired an old Bianchi frame and hope that one of you many Bianchiophiles can provide some identification.
It is colored celeste underneath its more recent blue paint and is different from others that I have seen in that the "b" of bianchi is in lower case. The lettering is dark blue or black, with serifs, and no border round the letters. It is a 59cm frame and the other distinguishing characteristics are: long serrated Campagnolo rear dropouts (unfortunately rather butchered), headlugs with integral seats for the head bearings, otherwise fairly conventional looking pointed lugs. The seatstays come to a blunt point each side of the seat lug and the frame number 288692 is stamped between the points on the top front surface of the lug.
Any clue as to age/model would be appreciated. If anyone has the correct fork, it would be a shame not to mate them up one way or the other, or if anyone has pictures showing the correct fork, that would be really helpful too.
Realizing that a picture is worth a whole bunch of words, what is the best/no/low cost way of putting pictures on the net -- I have a few bits and bikes that might be of interest to the wider community. I try to get the bikes out and ride them when possible, but that doesn't make them available to many people.
