Just a follow-up to today's pic showing Paul Chocque cresting the Tourmalet in the 1935 TdF.

Today I received another parcel of French cycling magazines, and among them is "But et Club" No.199, 5 September 1949, with a pic on the cover showing Paul Chocque right after his fatal motorpacing accident at Parc des Princes in Paris. More pics were inside, and a brief article describing his fall while at full speed during a motorpaced race.
Chocque had won Bordeaux-Paris in 1936, and went on to have quite a career behind the pace motorcycle, both on and off the track. He died at age 39.
