Wes, You're right about the location of the Tanguy workshop. The fellow who built Tanguy frames, Rob Horwitz, was originally from the D.C. area (Bethesda, Maryland to be precise) although he moved to the Boston area when he went into the frame building business. So in addition to the connections in New England, he had a fair number of connections in D.C. The last time Rob and I talked about this sort of thing I'm pretty sure he said that more frames were sold through Mike Schwering's Georgetown Cycle Sport store than any other single shop. But those were all "off the rack" frames. I imagine that custom frames were sold primarily in the Boston area. But if there's great interest in this sort of information, I can ask Rob for whatever details he's willing to provide. I'd be curious how many of you actually own (or have ever owned) a Tanguy bicycle. I saw a fair number the frames displayed at Mike Schwering's store, but I've only seen two fully built up Tanguy bikes - Rob's own tandem and the single he built for his father. Best regards, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia
