Subject: [CR]Many Thanks!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all those who replied to my post about my son Keith's accident. The outpouring of support was really overwhelming. Not only did people offer their sympathy, best wishes, prayers, anecdotes, and similar stories of accidents and recovery, but many also offered to donate components to help rebuild a bike. One generous CR member even offered the loan of his own XO-1, once Keith is able to ride again. I shared all of this with Keith, and he was quite surprised and humbled by all the attention.

All of this was a very special (and very much appreciated) reconfirmation of what a great community the CR list is, and how meaningful being a member of that extended family really is.

I'm very happy to report that Keith is doing very well, and is up and mobile again (well, semi-mobile maybe). Yesterday, his roommates even came over, picked him up and took him out for the day, which was a huge step (both physically and emotionally) toward recovery.

Please accept my apologies for not responding to everyone individually, but the sheer volume of posts makes it impractical, at least for the moment.

On a related note, the lawyers have asked me to try and determine a current replacement value for the XO-1. If anyone has any idea of a semi-official way to establish such a thing, please respond off-list.

Thanks again!!
