The best hand tool for removing above average oxidation on chrome or aluminum, that I have found, are these wire "platers" brushes. They do the heavy work w/o deeply marking. I cleaned a heavily oxidized Fiame rim, today, and after brushing and semichrome pollish , I had a Very nice finish, quickly. 13-1/2" overall, hard-wood handle, 7"x 3/4" of brissels.(fits between spokes well.) Looks like an average wire brush but has copper alloy bristles. I have never seen these in stores. They are US made, new US surplus (thanks Uncle), $10 each, delivered in USA.
