The time has come for Big Red and me to part company. If you like tall beauties then this elegant 1968 Hetchins road/path complete bike measuring 25" center-center may be the one for you. Currently oufitted with a Sturmey Archer FM hub, but since she has track ends, would be a very impressive fixed gear. Rear end is 110mm. A 9+, (are there really any tens?) chrome is perfect, original paint and decals nearly so. The six days style decal on the seat tube is complete but has the beginnings of a few age lines appearing. (Show me any 36 year old that doesn't, though). No dents, dings, scratches, scars. No issues, no baggage whatsoever, save for a few very minor surface blemishes that can be resolved with exfoliating creme, er, rubbing compound. Up front is one of the nicest pair of TITAN bars and stem you'll ever see. Formerly NOS Universal 68 brakeset looks like jewelry, hoods are soft and supple. Oh my, they're nice. Smooth and true wheels with Rigida wired on rims, Campy Tipo front hub with straight skewer, Wolber tires. Campy 170mm Strada crankset, 144bcd,no date code, Campy pedals (but w/o the loop). Lycett swallow saddle. Seen on the Hetchins.org site as a model for the VM I lug pattern: http://www.hetchins.org/501vm-01.htm

Beauties like this one are very rarely available, and when they are, they're not cheap. Same with this tall red. $1800 shipped by FedEx anywhere in the lower 48. Let me know if you would like additional photos Jay Van De Velde Seal Beach,CA
