In reading several websites about PEGORETTI frames there have been
references to builder Gino Milani. A quote from one of these sites:
"Pegoretti has long been a formidable behind-the-scenes presence. They
acquired their knowledge and expertise from legendary Gino Milani. Milani
was never famous to the cycling world at large, but he was one of the most
brilliant framebuilders of the 1970's. His work was a major influence on
every high-end framebuilder of the time." Curiously there isn't any mention
of Gino Milani (other than as they relate to Pegoretti) in the archives.
Could a "legendary" and "one of most brilliant" builders of the 1970s have
escaped attention? Which high end builders did he influence? Or there is
some marketing hype at play here?
