it's funny how subjectivity is. i thought that "look", when cleaned up well, was quite nice - especially in lieu of all the power tools and "undercutting" that was rampant prior to that technique. i believe both marchetti + lange and bikemachinery made the power press bits that created the slot plus depression you are talking about. like anything - in the hands of a cowboy framebuilder, it will look horrendous. e-RICHIE chester, ct
