well, you just send all those nice clements that are still holding air, and have reasonably supple sidewalls, to me, and I will take GOOD care of them. Paris-Roubaix, Criteriums and CdMs in particular.
Vintage sew-up wheels are lighter than nearly all clincher wheels, and a lot cheaper. Even a cheap sew-up tire rides better than the most expensive clincher combo you can get today.
I'll concede, in some applications, clinchers may be the better choice...but for sheer sensual pleasure on the road, sew-ups cannot be beat. Dave, just go put a pair of ergals laced to Campagnolo LF Record or Tipo hubs, with Clement Criterium Seta Extras (or Veloflex, or Vittoria setas), on any bike you have, and tell me that's not better than any clincher wheelset you own, and by a country mile! I dare ya!
But, then, you don't have to. You know I'm right.
If there were any justice in this world, I would still be able to buy Clement Criterium Seta extras. Damn. What a tire that was.
