Scott,
Did you look at the 1983 cataloge on that web site? Thre is
an '83 PH-10 which is relatively basic but it did have (if I
recall correctly) forged rear dropouts with an integral
derailleur hanger. I don't recall Peugeot ever producing a
model called a PH-8, at least not in my lifetime.
There was a UO-8 which was the garden variety "10 speed"
bicycle made from ordinary carbon steel. If your bike has the
rear derailleur mounted with a "claw hanger" then it is most
likely a UO-8. Again, if I recall correctly, all of the ??-10
models (even the lowliest ones) had forged rear dropouts and
tubing that was at least a bit "special" - i.e. the PFN-10 was
made from Durifort, the later PGN-10 was from Reynolds 501 and
the PSV-10 from Super Vitus.
