Crescent did indeed offer a stainless steel pro-equipped model in early to mid 70's. I remember getting a Crescent catalog about 1974 or 1975 that had this model in it. I think the geometry was the same a the pro 531 models. I vaguely recall there was something odd about the geometry of these bikes, but don't recall exactly what.

The caretaker for the bike said it was stainless steel. Didn't have a chance to take a real close look but it had fancy lugs that were painted in a tan/brown color but other than the painted lugs the frame was naked. It looked very impressive, gleaming, and fully equipped with Campy NR (with all rubber shot). And it had a substantial and very cool head badge that wrapped halfway around the head tube. Sounds like the model that is referenced in the CR page under Sweden with reference to it as a pro model. It might become "available" so we'll keep our fingers crossed. Anyone have any more info on this particular model? sAnyone have nay more period, Crescent also briefly offered a stainless steel tubing Pro bike,
