I've never used a demultiplicator. I know it changes the amount of lever travel for a given shift, but I never knew in which direction. If it increases the amount of lever travel necessary to shift through the gears, one probably wouldn't want to combine it with the Simplex Retrofriction shifters, as these have a lot of lever travel already.
