Not sure of the pitch, but both Harris Cycles (where Sheldon works) and Bike Tools Etc. have a pretty good selection of stainless metric fasteners in sizes commonly used on bicycles. I buy most of mine from those two sources, but when I lived in PA, one local hardware store had a surprisingly good selection, even including stainless.
