you asked about the CB for auction at the moment:
I sold this Claud Butler about 8 months ago to a man in Japan. I have no idea if the seller is the same person that I sold it to. The Bike was made in 1936 and when I sold it, was in very original condition with all original parts. I bought a shed full of 1930's bits and pieces from an old lady whose husband had died some 10 years previously. This was maybe 3 years ago. Amongst the hoard were several very original bikes, this was not my size so I moved it on. I will shortly be selling a 1938 Claud Butler USWB tandem when I get around to picking it up from my parents house. The lady bought the bike brand new and that year rode a comprehensive European tour on it including a crossing of the alps. Two years later husband and wife repeated the trip on the tandem. The seller says that he is unaware of the model, but supplied the serial number of 52249. Can anyone offer any information from this number?
