I know that Bianchi made a Giro model with SLX in the late 80s and 90-91. The Super Leggara model had SL at least up until 88. I don't know whether the Super Leggara was made after that in SLX. I also don't know whether SLX was used on different sized frames before then, but this could be a Giro if SLX is the differentiating detail.       If memory serves me correctly, and in this instance I think it does, we are Both correct. In 1989 Bianchi made a Giro model with SLX. It was third down from the top. Bianchi also made a Superleggera model made with SLX. It was second down from the top. As far as I can tell the difference between these 2 bikes was that the Giro had different handlebars/stem/saddle from the Superleggera, plus a Athena/Chorus mix, whereas the Superleggera had Chorus/C-record mix.
Also, it just popped into my mind. The Top line model was called a "Mondiale", which came with a Croce D"Aune/C-Record mix and those boat anchors cleverly disguised as brake calipers, the infamous Delta. It was made with SLX as well. Don't ask me what was 4th model down from the top since I haven't a clue.
However, I believe this is all out of the CR time frame, so I will end this thread with the observation that I believe the Mondiale model was the last Bianchi model ('84 or '85) ever made to sport Campy SR. Those with more accurate knowledge please correct me if I am askew. cheers- Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT
