Up for auction is a 1973 Cinelli Super Corsa, originally sold via Cupertino Bike shop. The good news is that the workmanship is better than most I have seen of that era. The bad news is that the previous owner, a good friend of mine, left it in her carport unattended for nearly a year. The beautiful chrome rear triangle, fork and lugs all have begun to rust. I gave a quick polish to one of the fork blades and it shined up nicely, but to be sure those minscule pits that are the start of rust are still sitting there just out of sight.

The other big potential flaw is that there is a small crack in the chrome radiating out of one of the fork vent holes. Don’t know for sure if it is a crack in the tubing, but I feel more comfortable calling it one and making sure that anyone that buys this bike does so with the intent of a total rehab. Otherwise the frame has no dents, ripples or other scars of the road.

It is set up for fenders with eyelets on the dropouts and on the bridges. A proper size NR seatpost and Cinelli seat binder come with it. I’m listing it for $225, which for the right person might make it attractive enough to rehab. I hope so, because aside from the silly business of leaving it outside for so long, the bike was well cared for and ridden less than usual during the last 30+ years. ST measures 57.5cm C-T-C and TT is 56.5 C-T-C. If anyone has questions fire away.
