Yes; you could call it a Masi spin-off. See http://www.bates-lee.com/masi/. Made some nice stuff, very Masi-esque, but went belly-up a few years ago. Was reborn as Simo Cycles, still run by Gian Simonetti.

I noticed that the link to Simo Cycles' web site (http://www.simocycles.com/) is dead. Did that enterprise fail too?
