1963 also makes them correct for my controversial Ephgrave No. 1. Not sure about the curly Hetchins I got from Griff Spooner. Griff, what year did you say that was?

I had read and remembered a 1963 date for TA crankarms . . . which makes it reasonable to me that Anquetil in '61 might be participating in the R& D program. These cranks are near and dear to my cycling aesthetic, so I had been doing what research I can. I can't recall if I got the information from the excellent TA reference site (where's the link? I have it somewhere) or possibly the Sheldon Brown / Harris site . . . but both are worth checking for TA info.

I had to know if the "Cyclotourist" arms were appropriate for my own early Everly Brothers-style wig a al Anquetil . . . the answer was yes, but I'm adding a little extra in the sideburns department (over Anquetil) despite the slight increase in wind-resistance. The sideburns may take me back into Stronglight 49D territory, but I can still use the TA rings! Which is my plan (Hi Jerry!) for that Ephgrave (no. 2 style, I reckon) that I am slowly building up.

As soon as I have a steady job again, I pledge to buy some new 5 vis TA crank arms from someone who is still ordering them for stock. . . to help insure that they continue to be made. Love them. I'm ashamed to say I've bought all mine used so far, but I'm still in my salad days or whatever.

Someone will likely be able to tell us at what trade show these crank arms were introduced for general consumption . . . and no, my salads are not Dural . . . .

P.S. Crank arms? or "crankarms"?
