Regarding the Colnago timeline - 1987: The birth of Colnago’s Precisa fork with straight blades, a major revolution in fork designs.

Straight bladed forks had been around since at least the thirties.

The forks didn't catch on with the "old timers" because they pounded them just like they do today.

In cycling, most things new, are pretty old.
