I'm sorry to say, $ 35.- is an awful lot to pay to have BB bearing pressed, it's a matter of a a few minutes to do so..............Could it be the cost of doing business in Silicon valley?......Or am I missing something? I can't believe they would charge this much? They can't say it's due to the high cost of to tooling because that press has been around for ages........So to say it was paid for many, many moons ago. Anybody ever watch them pump oil into those little green bottels? Hey! Whats this? A chevron truck pulls up and unload a few 55 gal drums!..............Alright the oil is here, pulled one up to the table install the foot operated pump and start filling away...............By hand one at a time.....So now you all know where the oil is coming from.

Hi All,
I have been in contact with Richard about these and thought I should post
for all.
Both of these BB's use the same cartridge style bearings. It is an easily
found cartridge #6903. I prefer the Enduro type that I get from QBP, They
sell for about $10 each. I have used them in both BB's without problems.
That being said, I would send in a Phill BB for them to press in new
bearings in the future. They charge $35 to do this. I am not convinced that
my bench vice presses the bearings as straight...
The OMAS ones are not pressed on the spindle, so no vice is needed. So, If
you need OMAS bearings, head down to your LBS and have them add it to thier
next QBP order.
