As discussed by the core kids of the Detroit Vintage Road Bicycle Contingent, we would like to invite all readers to a vintage ride and modern lunch on Sunday, August 29th (this Sunday). Ride is to wind through nicely paved or asphalt suburban neighborhoods (for the most part), non to mildly hilly (as desired), with two possible pace options, followed by an outdoor lunch at Mr.B's Restaurant in Royal Oak.
11:00am Begin to arrive and meet - look at vintage bikes and vintage bike stuff.
11:30am Ride departs - two paces may be available (hence, two possible distance options).
1:00pm Converge with saddles, upon Mr. B's on Main Street, for outdoor seating, and time to gab, gawk and grub ... all at the same time. (Note: Beirut Palace at the main corner may be a likely alternate, if Mr. B's is too crowded. Beirut Palace is more conducive to holding out bicycles as well ... oh, but the food at both places is very good!)
Weather is predicted to be Michigan, so dress accordingly :)
If you MUST skip the ride, but can still make the lunch at 1:00 ... PLEASE DO! In the event of excessive Michigan weather, we can all simply skip the ride, and just meet for lunch.
Any questions ... just email.
Ciao,
