I'm not quite sure when the team was started, but Eric Heiden did race for 7-11. He won the inaugural CoreStates USPro race here in Philadelphia in 1984. Greg LeMond also raced in it one year, '84 or '85 I believe (but I could be wrong on that one), as well as Lance Armstrong winning the $1 Million Thrift Drug triple crown here in 1993.

Wow! I am bad on dates but Eric H was definitely there at that Stage race and it doesn't seem that it was in the 1980s. Seems like 7-11 was in 76-77 but what-the-hell-do-I-know. Ha! So we had 5 speeds that late? Shows what a low budget outfit we had. One of us will surely know when 7-11 started!?
