Eric- I am no Raleigh expert, but what I do know about them, jives with your comments. It sure doesn't look like a Pro to me either. You point out the obvious issues with the frame being all wrong, but then there is the "Complete Campagnolo Gruppo except Modolo Master Pro Brakes". I have never seen any Raleigh, pro or otherwise, come with Ambrosio rims, Modolo brakes, Black Cinelli stem, and the Suntour brakelevers as dispalyed in the photo. Couple of other things do make me come to another conclusion. It has a Campy Gran-sport crank, pedals and possibly headset. It leaves me with the impression that this is a Late 70s Raleigh Competion G.S., but definitely not a Pro. The seller looks like they have sold a bunch of CR timeline bikes, so I am at a loss to explain the incomsistencies as well. He is also one of those folks that $35 charges for "professional" boxing......Now if I can just convince the seller to send it to me for $15, then I will give it a "better than professional" boxing and only charge the buyer $30,,,,,,,, cheers- Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT

The bike shown and listed as a Raleigh Pro has some odd inconsistencies about her: Seat stay caps are all wrong for late (post '77) vintage Pro; they should have the over hanging type caps. Late Pro's never had chromed chainstays and forks ends; only the drop out faces would have been chromed. Chrome on stays and forks ended with the fastback seat cluster. Pro's had "Professional" on the front sides of the top tube; not "Raleigh" as on this frame Pro's had silver/grey banding on the seat tube and the head tube was painted that color too. '70's and '80's vintage Pro's always came with Campagnolo Record brakes, why would someone down grade? Late Pro's had reinforced rear brake bridges and brazed on "flats" for the brake nut; this one does not. Late Pro's had scalloped stay and fork ends; this one does not.

This is definitely a very late '70's or probably '80's due to under BB derailleur cable routing, cable guides on the TT, braze on type shift levers and non-fastback seat stays. Chrome on the stay and fork ends would lead me to believe that this is an earlier frame, but not a Pro. Under BB routing though strongly suggests a late 70's frame. very contradictory. What do you think.......

So, I'm not convinced that this is really a Raleigh Pro frame. I've been wrong before though and would like to hear other comments on this bike.

Eric Elman Somers, CT I've owned 2 of the post fastback Pro's and they were not like this one.

Seems like Raleigh Pro's are getting some attention on the list today, so I'll toss this out to the group. Item #3692097529.

Looks like late '70's vintage, pictures aren't that great. Some mods. No relation to seller.
