This example appears original sans pedals & CPSC reflectors.

I remember assembling those and selling them in 1976, or 1977. I think they went for $274. or so. Perhaps $239. when they first appeared. Not found in catalog, if I remember correctly there was a supplemental sheet for them. Sold pretty well considering the "dated" color scheme and most went out the door with Suntour instead of Simplex and any one of a number of padded saddles. Over half with kickstands! We tried to talk people out of them but usually at the first free tune up ... The tubing was a selling point, the ride next, many would notice the gearing first before any ride characteristics. We would often have a customer test ride a bike and whatever bike was in the lighter gear they liked best. We would then put the bikes in the same basic size of gear and have them test ride again "for real", then they would notice the ride.
