I recently bought a stem on eBay that was lacking the quill bolt. I thought that I'd cannibalize a late 80's/early 90's stem that I had lying around, but I found yesterday that the earlier stem requires a slightly smaller diameter bolt.

Some time ago, I bought a replacement Cinelli steel quill bolt from Loose Screws, but that bolt (which fit a 1-R stem nicely) is the same size as the larger bolt in my newer 3T stem (roughly 7mm on my beat up calipers). The Loose Screws website seems to be down today. Thanks in advance for any leads, Kerrigan --------------------------------------------------------------------------- May I suggest a plan "b". Consider drilling out the extra 1.5mm in the stem bolt shaft. I have done this 3 different times over the last 25+ years and still am riding 2 of those stems w/o any problems. The 3rd one I did for a friend who apparently still rides it w/o any problems, but then again I haven't heard from him in a couple months(?!)
