Howdy folks, Here is the final follow up from Mitzi and my year in Belgium and a final bike related find. In nine days we'll be boarding a plane in Brussels to head back stateside for a year back in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho--my hometown. Any listies in the area drop me a line off-line and we can meet up. Living here has been a true "classic rendezvous" every day, though sometimes it feels more like a classic 55 car pile up on I-5. People here ride things daily that folks back home would polish up to win a best of show at Chuck's little shin-dig. For those travelers on the list I can't recommend Belgium enough, come for the bikes and stay for the beer.

Anyway this leads me to the last flea market find. If you remember back to my previous posts and finds, I've been looking for stuff you just can't find in the U.S. Last summer there were a plethora of books available for very few euros, but they seemed to dry up around Xmas never to be seen again. Since then I've been trying to pick up anything odd I can find bike related and yesterday I think I found the equivalent to the lost city of Atlantis for bike geeks. For a few euros I became the new owner of a View-Master three reel set of Eddy Merckx form '69. Yep, bet you haven't seen those before. Add this find to the early-50s scrapbook and other odds and ends and I can claim that my year in Gent has been a success.

If you'd like to comment on this post please CC my above address too, since I have the list delivery disabled at this time. I should be coming back to the list a bit more full-time in October after we've gotten settled in and I've got my shop up and running. enjoy, Brandon"monkeyman"Ives Gent, Belgium. . . for now. ++++++++++++++++++ "Sine coffea nihil sum." --Sarah Vowell-- ++++++++++++++++++
