"I know this... much is....... true. (...this much is true-hoo, this much is true-hoo...)." Now I have Spandau Ballet songs running through my brain.... ;-) Something had to go really wrong to have Carsten's business crash (twice) like it did. I also hope that he is OK. I bought a lot from him over a period of a few years. I never failed to get an item (eventually...... You have to be very patient when waiting for standard airmail shipments from Germany to the the US in these post-9/11 times), and often received little "bonus items" with the shipments, even when others were already sounding alarm bells here on CR. He was always pleasant and responsive to me. I suspect, like so many situations, that it was a combination of problems. The fellow that was trying to keep it going near the end (Matthias) seemed to be really struggling with it at times, perhaps due in part to the sheer volume of NOS stuff that they were selling on eBay. I think the big decline of the US Dollar vs. the Euro didn't help either. I believe Tanja is his wife IIRC. I remember sending payments to Barum, Germany. Does anyone know the real story, and if so, are you at liberty to tell us all or part of it (if that's appropriate)? Greg "das ist schade" Parker Ann Arbor, Michigan

MEGA DITTOS. I was ready to get him some free plastic surgery but he made good on the deal and explained away the reason for the issue. He's also a Spandau Ballet fan. That goes far with me. e-RICHIE chester, ct

I'll add: And a nice guy.

I bought a fair bit of stuff from Carsten a couple years back, and he was always a pleasure to deal with. I hope things are OK with him.
