I installed a Campy titanium pedal shaft and it's 1/8 inch bearings into a pedal body meant to have the steel shaft and larger bearings(3/16"?). I substituted the larger radius adjusting cone for the smaller one meant to go with the ti set up because using the smaller cone prevented having enough thread to tighten the lock nut. It was a fiddle to get adjusted, but after going for a ride and then checking for play, then re-adjusting, the pedals seem to be smooth without play. These pedals go on a track bike, hate to have them freeze up or...? Has anyone ever been so eccentric as to do what I did. Wondering what the long term results might be?
